Music Program

Music Program

Encore’s Music Program offers private, one on one lessons for beginners to advanced levels in a variety of instruments, as well as group lessons in music theory, solfege, musical production, sound recording, music history, jazz ensemble & keyboard band. Students may enroll in private lessons and/or in group lessons, and Encore accepts students (children and adults) all year round. The group lessons help students understand the fundamentals of music in an interactive and fun way, while the private lessons focus more on technique and performance skills of the chosen instrument.

The recommended ages to start private music lessons vary according to the instrument of choice. Encore also offers group classes for toddlers between 12 months and 4 years of age. These group classes are recommended for the really young children in order to stimulate creativity and develop motor skills from early age.

Encore’s Music Program prepares students for auditions to be accepted into performing arts magnet programs, as well as college auditions to enter into a university for a career in music. An important part of our curriculum is the exposure we give our students by affording them the opportunity to participate in recitals, competitions and evaluations. Our music students are encouraged to participate in at least two Encore recitals annually. We hold one recital in December and another in June at the University of Miami Victor E. Clarke Recital Hall, Florida International University and/or at the Ransom Everglades School.

According to their level, each student will be able to participate in local competitions and evaluations that will provide extra performance opportunities. Recitals, evaluations and competitions outside of Encore are subject to extra fees. A list of all registration fees is available before enrolling students into these events. Encore also offers Masterclasses with world renowned musicians so that students can broaden their musical knowledge to even higher levels.
