Alejandro Senior was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and moved to Miami in 1999. He was accepted into the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and began his Freshman fall semester in 2013.
He is studying Music Education, Music Business, and Theater Arts as a Classical Piano Principle. He began playing piano when he was six and acting when he was twelve. He studied under Leonardo Curbelo for Classical Piano and under Ana Flavia Zuim, Francisco Padura, Leo Williams, and John Rodaz for Musical Theater. He’s done over 12 conservatory productions and 2 professional productions, recreating iconic roles like Javert in Les Miserables (Area Stage Company) and Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening (QuantUM Theater Group).
He received three awards at Belen Jesuit Preparatory’s Roca Theater for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical and Play. He’s also been recognized at the State Level, receiving awards from the Thespian Association of Florida for best Large Group Musical and Monologue.
He is currently furthering his career as a Musical Director. Some credits as Music Director include: Beauty and The Beast (Belen), Addams Family (Belen), Little Shop of Horrors (Belen), CATS (Actors Playhouse), Lion King (Scheck Hillel) Frog and Toad (Area Stage Company).
He’s taught children from 3-18 in piano, acting, singing, dancing, performing, auditioning, and recording. Alejandro plans to finish his undergrad and become a musical director for a professional theater company.
