Eva Garrucho

Piano teacher, piano lessons in Miami

Originally from Havana, Cuba, pianist Evita Garrucho is an active freelancer and teacher in Miami and South Florida. Ms. Garrucho currently teaches piano to students of all levels at the “Encore Academy of the Arts”. Her uniquely sweet personality and loving demeanor make of her the ideal piano instructor for toddlers and beginner piano students.

For the last three decades, Ms. Garrucho has regularly worked as a piano instructor in schools in Cuba, Spain, Mexico, and the US, while performing as both, a popular piano/keyboard and vocalist, and a Classical pianist and accompanist. She has performed in venues and theaters around the world as a pianist/keyboardist for internationally acclaimed bands like “Monte de Espuma” (Cuba,) “Islas Infinitas“ (Canary Islands,) and Cuban singer Amaury Gutiérrez. As a Classically trained musician she has collaborated with “Ensemble Vocal Contemporáneo” of Tenerife, Spain, and with the Miami Zarzuela company “Opera Prima.” Currently Ms. Garrucho works with “Duo Habaneras” which she co-founded with cellist Ivette Falcón.

Trained at the prestigious “Instituto Superior de Arte” in Havana, with educators like Cuban Ofelia Montalván, Roberto Urbay, and the Russian pedagogue Stanislav Pochekin, Ms. Garrucho has earned several awards in piano competitions, like the Instituto Superior de Arte Contemporary Music Competition, where she won the 2nd Prize for two consecutive years, 1998 and 1999.

I could not say enough about Eva. She is an incredibly patient teacher who truly cares about her students.
